He wandered from village to village, and when he came to the next one, he laid out stones with numbers on the square around him, climbed on tall stilts, put a wooden lock on his head, and stood motionless all day, pretending to be a sundial. That's how he earned his living. And then one day, in one of the villages, he met a little girl who had no friends.
